Reconstructive plastic surgery is used to correct abnormalities in body structure due to cancer and tumor removal. It is usually performed in those treated for breast or head and neck cancer but can be carried out on any part of the body to restore aesthetics and function. The reconstructive procedure may be performed during surgery for cancer removal or as a separate procedure.
