What is Buttocks Lift and Augmentation?

Buttock contouring is a cosmetic procedure designed to sculpt or improve the buttock shape and appearance with either augmentation or lift.

The choice of treatment depends on the shape of the body, the quality of the skin, and the desired goals.

Buttock Augmentation

through fat transfer uses your body's own fat cells to enhance the volume of the buttocks. It does not cause any allergic reaction compared to the use of implants. The transfer of fat improves the shape of the buttocks and makes it fuller.

Procedure of Buttock Augmentation

Fat cells collected by liposuction from the thigh or abdomen after desensitization with local anesthesia are prepared for injection by washing the cells and separating them from the debris. After giving the patient local or general anesthesia, the viable fat cells are then re-injected using a cannula in the desired places of the buttock using multiple passes for every small volume of viable fat cells. The placement of these viable fat cells at the right place with good blood supply is very critical for the desired long-lasting effect. Antibiotics are prescribed to prevent infection, and pain-relieving medications may be given if you are experiencing pain or discomfort. Swelling and bruising are common after fat injection and usually resolves within 2-3 weeks. The stitches are removed after a week or so. The final result of the procedure is seen only after three months.

Buttock lift

It is a surgical procedure that removes the excess fat along with the excess skin from the buttocks. It is usually indicated for sagging buttocks, following massive weight loss or from aging.

Procedure of Buttock lift

Buttock lift is usually performed under general anesthesia on an outpatient basis. The surgeon makes incisions under the buttocks, which are invisible. Excess skin and fat are removed. Liposuction may also be done to improve the appearance of the buttocks. At the end of the procedure, the incisions are closed with absorbable sutures and a sterile dressing pad is applied. The patient is placed in a compression garment to reduce swelling and to aid in the tightening of the skin. The whole procedure lasts for 2-4 hours.

The complications of buttock lift surgery include swelling, bleeding, infection, bruising and numbness.
